The Hydrans are an unusual species that live on the far side of the Klingon Empire, along the edge of the galaxy. They are enemies of the Klingons and Lyrans, and were conquered by those empires at one point, only to drive the invaders out decades later. Hydrans breathe methane and live on cold type-S gas giants on silicate continents floating on liquid methane oceans.

Fitted with limited aegis and extra phaser-Gs, the Antelope Hunter War Destroyer Escort was one of the best carrier escorts of the General War. It is a fitting tribute that the need for escorts was so desperate that the original war destroyer prototypes were, in fact, fitted as escorts. This is possibly the only case in which a variant preceded the basic class type into service. The ship carried two Stinger-2 fighters but had facilities to refuel and rearm the fighters of whatever carrier was being escorted. Ships of this class included the Warder, Watchman, Guardian, and Protector.

The ship is available in a variety of materials. Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
