In the episode ENT. "Carbon Creek", the D'Vahl picked up the survivors of a Vulcan survey ship that crash-landed on earth in the late 1950s. The ship here was also meant to be a survey ship, capable of interstellar travel and with a crew of more than one person and enough space to take at least 4 additional passengers (the crew of the crashed ship). Therefore, the ship must be at least 30m long, better more something toward 50m. The problem is, in a later episode, the same CG model was used to depict fighter sized ships, chasing a Shuttlepod over Vulcan. The ships there seem to be just a bit larger than the Shuttlepod. Ex-astris-scientia.org assumes a length of approx. 12m. But at this size the ship would hardly be big enough to accommodate 5+ persons to be the same ship as in "Carbon Creek". The ship class then also would have been in service for over 200 years then. Therefore, Ex-astris-scientia lists both ships as two distinct designs. However, if we stretch the visuals of the fighters a little to 15m, then the ship would be big enough to act as a shuttle. The ship we saw in "Carbon Creek" actually don't had to be the D'Vahl itself but a support craft launched from it. Maybe the captain of the D'Vahl decided not to bring a big ship into earths orbit, fearing it could be detected by the humans, but uses a smaller ship to pick up the survivors and bring them to the D'Vahl undetected. Therefore, i use 15m for both versions. If you rather prefer a larger size, i have listed some alternative sizes for other common scales.
