3788 Scale Federation Heavy Carrier (CVA) WEM

The Federation, seeking ways to improve fighter deployment, built several of these heavy carriers on dreadnought hulls. Each carried 12 F-14 superiority fighters (later replaced by six F-101C heavy fighters) and 12 A-10 assault fighters (later replaced by six A-20 heavy assault fighters), but gave up some of the dreadnought’s firepower to make room (it has fewer phasers and drone racks, but four Gatling self-defense phasers that replaced phaser-1s; Heavy Carriers never gained the extra photons added to the later DNG dreadnoughts). These ships were formed into carrier groups with three escorts including a cruiser and were used as fleet flagships.

Known names include 2200 Napoleon, 2201 MacArthur, and 2202 Zhukov.

The ship is available in a variety of materials. Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
