3125 Scale Federation Improved Police Cutter (IPL)

Built by the Blohm-and-Vulcan shipyard, the improved police cutter was a relatively simple upgrade of the basic police cutter. It was intended to provide a more powerful convoy escort against late-war raiders. It incorporated a second photon torpedo for increased firepower at the cost of reducing the forward phaser array. However, overall phaser-1 firepower was retained by doubling the 360° phaser mount and expanding the firing arc of the remaining forward phaser. It also gained an additional drone rack to give it more offensive punch. To power all this, the warp engines were replaced by those of a frigate.
