Product Description
This coal car is designed for use in F Scale (1:20.3) and to run on 32mm (O Gauge) track.
There are five extra wheels included with the car as spares and as scenic items.
The wheels are constrained by a sprue that runs side-to-side in the bed of the car; trim this sprue out to remove the wheels.
The end is held in place with four small sprues. Trim and remove these.
The axles required are 0.125" in diameter, length to be determined during construction (approximately 1.6" long). The axle holes through the bearings should be reamed out with a 1/8" drill to remove excess material from the printing process.
The hinge bar for the end door needs to be constructed from appropriate wire.
The end door latch bar need to be constructed from brass strip with a pin for the hinge.
The car can be coupled using a bar link and a pin; the hole for the pin exists but may need to be drilled up to suit your pin diameter.
The bottom of the car has a 4mm deep recess for glueing in lead shot to improve performance.
NOTE: Only two cars can be printed in an array. Limitations in the Shapeways file size prevent the printing of three or more cars at once.
