3788 Scale Fed Classic Guided Weapons Dreadnought

The original Federation dreadnought (with four photon torpedoes) had already been upgraded to the DN+ (with six photons) but the looming General War encouraged the Federation to redesign the class into a proper warship. (The earlier designs had attempted to maintain the fiction that even the dreadnought was a scientific ship with self-defense weapons.) The Guided Weapons Dreadnought had many improvements over the DN+, including the addition of drone racks to fire nuclear-tipped anti-ship missiles and the remounting of the warp engines to clear the firing arcs for the saucer’s side phaser batteries. This was the standard capital ship for the Federation for most of the General War. The fans asked for this smooth-saucer version as a classic look and for ease of adding decals.

The ship is available in a variety of materials. Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
