Product Description
This is a set of NINE aircraft in either 1:1250 or 1:1200 scale - please check your choice in the top right corner of this page.
Please note that the individual items are supplied "caged" together to avoid loss and damage - after the cage is removed there are NO sprues to cut away from the individual items.
The HE 5, nicknamed the "Hansa", first flew in 1926 and was operated by the German, Swedish and Soviet Union air forces.
This is the later Swedish S5 C and D version of which 13 (9 Cs and 4 Ds) were built by the Swedish Air Force. They had upgraded engines and new cockpit and tail designs. The floats were built by Short Brothers (Wiki) (Click here to see the earlier, S5A version.)
Armament consisted of one fixed, forward firing Browning machine gun and one trainable, rearward-firing on a ring mount. It could carry 160kg of bombs on racks beneath the fuselage.
