Product Description
A die based on the Hexakis Tetrahedron shape (a.k.a. hextetrahedron). It can be thought of as a tetrahedron in which each of the four sides has been puffed out into 6 scalene triangles. I was reading through Alea Kybos' dice site and he mentions that he has never seen a die in this shape. Right then, I knew it was time for me to make it.

Although the shape is isohedral (and therefore fair for use as dice), it has no parallel sides. Because of this, a face doesn't land with a face directly up, as with most dice. But there is a resultant face which is "higher" than the others.

I have printed this and it looks beautiful (better than my photography skills can portray). The shape is unique and playful. But like the regular tetrahedon (d4), a point sticks up so don't step on it!

I have tested it, and I and others are able to determine the result, so unless you are playing a game with an argumentative person, it should be usable as a d24. I have numbered this die so that opposing resultant faces add up to 25, as per convention.

This model has recently been updated to version 2 with numbers which are less deeply engraved (they were found to be too deep on the first model, which is what is shown in the photograph).
