3788 Scale Andromedan Heavy Viper (VIP-H) SRZ

Andromedans are an aggressive empire from the M31 Andromedan Galaxy. Their technology is different from that of ships in our galaxy. They use tractor-repulsor beams to rip enemy ships apart, displacement devices to teleport their own ships or enemy ones, and weapons that are similar to a phaser-2. They do not use shields but instead use power absorbers that capture the energy of enemy weapons and cycle it back into their own systems and weapons. Larger Andromedan ships (motherships) carry small frigate/destroyer-sized ships internally and launch them as needed in combat.

The Viper got little benefit in the programming for the upgrade to heavy status. The power demands on the small hull to operate the power absorber panels in addition to life support and fire control still left it dependent on battery power for maximum speed. The heavy tractor-repulsor beam refit, while it nominally increased the ship’s firepower, generally left it still operating that weapon as a light tractor-repulsor beam in order to maintain a good battle speed.

The ship is available in a variety of materials. Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
