The size of the Cardassian Hideki Class differed from episode to episode. The scripts for these episodes also called it a Patrol Ship, an Attack Ship or simply a Shuttle. The former two were depicted at sizes from 85.75m (the official size) up to 200m, wile the latter would require the ship to be about 20m or less. In most cases, where the Shuttle variant was needed, the unaltered Hideki model was used (first a physical studio model, later a CGI model). However, for the episode "Tacking into the Wind", the CGI model seemed to be altered to depict the shuttle. The round part at the top seems to be higher, the fork at the aft was shortened and something like a propulsion system was inserted between it. I tried to recreate that to make my own shuttle variant. In order to give the crew enough space inside the ship, i also stretched the ship slightly to be higher and enlarged the "nose"-part. I also filled up the gap on the bottom and added two doors on each side between the wings to allow the crew to actually enter the ship. The original studio model did in fact have something like a front window. This was covered up with greebles on the later CGI model. I recreated that window by removing those parts.
Ex-astris-scientia assumes a length of approx. 15m for this variant. At this size the front module would have about the size of a Federation Type 6 Shuttle. However, the front window would be too low for the crew to look through (even if they would sit right on the floor), and the doors i added would be only big enough to get through them by crawling on all fours. At 21m on the other hand, the front section would have a similar size as the front section of a Federation Runabout. Even the front windows of both ships then have a similar size and shape! (A coincidence? Or did they plan to use the Runabout cockpit set for a possible interior shot?). The doors would still be very low and someone would need to duck to get through it.
