Product Description
A monument to the idea that a ship design can always be taken another step, the OmniHawk was a semi-dreadnought using five of the standard “Hawk-series” engines. (The FireHawk heavy cruiser used four, the SparrowHawk light cruiser used three, and the SkyHawk destroyer used two. The MegaHawk dreadnought used six.) The shipyard actually never intended to build any OmniHawks, only to use the design as a lower-cost version of the MegaHawk to win the contract, after which they tried to convince the government to pay for the heavier design since it was only 11% more money. The original design had the engines under the hull but when actually built OmniHawks and MegaHawks had the splayed engines that corresponded to the cruisers’ plus refit. The ship is modular and can use any SparrowHawk/FireHawk modules. The OmniHawk is the ship that was the original design. The ship can, of course, cloak.
The ship is available in a variety of materials. (Smooth Fine Detail Plastic makes an excellent cloaked ship!) Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
