Pawns with Hats - Queen

Presenting what is very possibly the laziest chess design ever conceived: Pawns with Hats! Is it a suggestion that we're all the same inside, and the king is no different from the pawn? Is it some variant of the idea that a person might "wear many hats," referring to the various responsibilities we burden ourselves with in our daily lives? Is it a Team Fortress 2 reference gone horribly, horribly wrong? You decide!

Ah, the queen. The most powerful piece in the entire game. And okay, maybe the hat looks kinda dorky, but have you ever seen a chess queen that didn't? The only consistent theme is that they all have eight-fold rotational symmetry. Where's the fun in that? Anyway, here's the queen.
