Pullman Oval Windows HO Scale

These are HO scale models of the oval (elliptical) windows that The Pullman Co. began fitting to their railroad passenger car restrooms starting around 1900.  They are intended for kit bashing and scratchbuilding  HO scale models of wooden passenger cars made by Pullman, including sleepers, parlor cars, smokers, coaches and private cars.  They may be appropriate for other manufacturers' cars. 

Overall dimensions of the outer casing are 0.370" [9.40 mm] high by 0.270" [6.86 mm] wide, representing real windows of 32.23" [819 mm] high by 23.52" [597 mm] wide. They are desinged to fit into elliptical holes 0.347 [8.81 mm] high by 0.247" [6.27 mm] wide.  Included are eight copies with a circular mullion in the center and 18 without.  The rear surface of the mounting flange and the rear surfaces of the mullions are all flush for the mounting of "glass". The glass would be frosted in most cases, so a piece of overhead transparency film, shiny side out, should work.

Also included is a handy template for marking the mounting hole with either a pencil or a sharp scriber.  The template has vertical embossed vees on one side, to engage with grooves in scribed siding as well as vertical and horizontal alignment marks on the other.

The parts are all connected with sprues which will need to be carefully cut with a sharp hobby knife or flush cutters.  File the nubs on the inner flange, which doesn't show when assembled.
