In 1949, Pierre Satra's team began working on the X-207, a supersonic interceptor sometimes described as the ancestor of the SE-212 Durandal. The X-207S variant was to be propelled by a stratoreactor and a 2000kgp rocket engine by which it was meant to attain Mach 1,3. The pilot was on a prone position.
