Product Description
The Star Fleet Universe has a variety of specialized shuttles. This comb has six of them. As the shuttles face you they are from the left:
Ground Assault Shuttle: Pretty much a standard shuttle optimized for the transport of troops into ground combat to include supporting them with fire. As part of the optimizing it, the shuttle’s hull is hardened giving it a little extra damage absorption before it is crippled or destroyed.
Space Warning and Control Shuttle: In a sense this is the ultimate expression of the multi-role shuttle, only fielded by the Federation. It is a highly capable electronic warfare shuttle with some of the capabilities of a full-sized scout! Its most significant effect, however, is that it can with no preparation “go wild,” and when it does it attracts not just any seeking weapons targeted on the ship which launched it, but every seeking weapon on the map within 15 hexes of the SWAC. Romulans (and other plasma empires) absolutely hate when that happens.
Scatter-Pack: This is a shuttle launched on a seeking trajectory with a load of up to six spaces of drones (a multi-role shuttle can be used in this and can carry up to eight spaces of drones) to temporarily increase the drone firepower of a ship. Make sure you have enough drone control channels at the point where the scatter-pack releases the drones, as any for which guidance is not immediately assumed go inert, i.e., are wasted.
Multi-Role Shuttle: This is a very special shuttle, which as it name implies, is able to function in multiple different ways. It has an electronic warfare function that can provide your ship (or a fighter squadron to which it is attached) with jamming and counter-jamming. It is armed, making it useful as an adjunct (at least it will attract some enemy attention away from your ship). It is capable of being equipped with mines (drawn from those on your ship) that it can drop in places the enemy may not expect. There are two versions of this on the comb. The first is a drone-armed shuttle. The second is the plasma-armed shuttle.
Wild Weasel: The final one (on the far right) is a standard shuttle fitted with systems to make it act as a decoy to distract enemy weapons.
This comb of shuttles is available in a variety of materials. Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
