Product Description
While the Admiralty of the Star Fleet agreed that the Arleigh class Frigate was an excellent design (as evidenced by the numbers built), there were some that felt that it was not as good for scouting and scientific work as the prior Perry class. Others felt that in time of war, a ship would be needed to command convoys. These dual impulses resulted in some of the later Arleigh hulls being completed as the Barry Class Frigate Leader. With an added command deck, and a much larger shuttle bay, the Barry class was able to accomplish even more than the Arleighs could.
