3125 Scale Federation Police Frigate (Masterson)

As the General War dragged on, police forces had to deal with increasingly larger and more dangerous pirates and raiders. The Federation police, like other police forces, built heavier police ships to deploy in more dangerous areas. The Police Frigate is an enlarged Police Cutter hull with a third engine to push the larger frame at barely acceptable speeds. The ship had increased weapons (a second photon torpedo, a drone missile rack, and more phasers), heavier shields, and other improvements.

Built in the Tacoma-Rigel shipyard, the police frigates served well in the second half of the General War. In some ways, production of the Police Frigate was a jobs program to keep the Tacoma-Rigel shipyard in business. The Callaghan-style (angled engine struts) is operationally identical to the Masterson-style (straight engine struts). Known names include Airedale, Bulldog, Corgi, Doberman, Easthound, Foxhound, Greenlander, Harrier, Incan, Jindo, Kuvasz, Lhasa, Mastiff, Owczarek, Pointer, Qimmiq, Retriever, Shepherd, Terrier, Utonagan, Vizsla, Wirehair, Xoloitzcuintli, Yorki, and Zuchon.

This ship is available in a variety of materials. Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
