Oesterreichische Flugzeugfabrik A.G. (Oeffag) obtained the license for the well-tested Albatros D.III and improved on the design in several series of aeroplanes with increasingly larger engines. Series 153.2 used the 200hp Daimler engine, and the wings and airframe were strengthened, overcoming the main weakness of the original design. 281 Series 153 planes were built in four batches, and they were among the most common and well-liked Austro-Hungarian fighters. This model depicts an early-model Series 153 plane, still with the spinner on the nose, and sporting a cover over the engine for cold-weather use.
This plane comes in both 1:144 and 1:285/6mm/1:288 scales.
The 1:285 product has two aircraft, connected by disposable links.
