Product Description
As soon as gunboats (also known as PFs) were available, the Klingons chose to modify several of their older D6 battlecruisers (then no longer first-line units) to this design. While gunboats had tremendous firepower (six of them would wreck a cruiser or give a dreadnought the fight of its life) they had short range. The only way to use them offensively was to outfit an available military hull to carry them. Almost all of these (including the D6P) included special sensors to find targets at ranges sufficient to leave the tender (which had few weapons) out of the battle. This made the D6P and almost every gunboat tender a fully functional scout. Gunboats were docked to four tractor beams on the rear hull and (upside down) to two tractor beams on an expanded grid structure as part of the boom. Known names and hull numbers include: 8-Hyena, 29-Vulture, 31-Raven, 40-Jackal, and 99-Swamprat.
The ship is available in a variety of materials. Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
