Product Description
The anti-ironclad guns Ericcson wanted for the Monitor didn't come into availability until months after the famous engagement between the Monitor and the CSS Virginia. The Passiac class monitor USS Weehaken brought its Dahlgren XV (and Dahlgren XI) to bear bringing the CSS Atlanta to heel in 1863 in 15 minutes firing solid shot.
I've included both the early barrel that had the turned down muzzle in order to fire through the Passaic class gun ports as well as the long barrel for the Canonicus and later monitors.
