The battleships of the New York class (BB34 New York and BB35 Texas) served in both world wars; in WW2 participated in Operation Torch/Naval Battle of Casablanca/Allied Invasion of North Africa, and later at Iwo Jima and Okinawa in the Pacific. At the end of the war, New York was used as a target ship in atomic bombs (Operation Crossroad), while Texas became a museum ship.
