This is an N-Scale (1:160) model kit of a grain auger in 2 styles. The model is based off of a very standard design and includes a swing out. The swing out can be modeled in various positions with a little modification (transport or loading positions). The auger is capable of being modeled in transport positions or any height up to ~45-50'.
REMOVE WHITE AREAS as they are SPRUES....see images.
Standard Lift Build:
1. Seperate the 2 swing out carts and their conversion heads and file/sand them smooth.
2. Use something to prop your auger up to the angle you want to model. ** the drive shaft end is typically 15" off the ground **
3. Secure the supports to the bottom of your propped auger so that the longer support can be glued to the under rail and the smaller rear support can be glue into the bracket. ** some light filing might be needed to fit in the bracket **
4. Decide on how you want to model the swing out and its location and set the cart flat on the ground surface.
5. The part that was removed earlier from the cart can be placed on the end of the auger intake area and the bottom will need to be filed/sanded at an angle of your choosing to mate with the tube and cart.
6. Cut the purple tube (evergreen #223) to your desired length and file/sand an angle to match the cart and the junction you have on the auger.
7. For Transport configuration. do the same as above but hang the cart on the support.
SCISSOR LIFT Build
1. All 3 sections of the scissor should be able to rotate to achieve the height desired.
2. Seperate 1 hydraulic system from the spares.
3. Cut the smaller tube from the longer tube. trim the smaller tube to your desired model length and re-glue
4. Assemble the swing out the same as above. to the side or in transport location.
