Product Description
The Triangulum Galaxy is 2.73 million light years from the Milky Way Galaxy. As seen from Earth, located in the United Federation of Planets, it can be seen in a constellation called Triangulum. Cataloged by Humans well before their first meeting with Vulcans, the Triangulum Galaxy has its own rich history with various empires and, of course, their ships.

The Arachnids are a species that has the appearance of little transparent spiders about 0.5 inches or 13mm, in size. They can take control of a humanoid host by entering its body and attaching to the cerebral cortex. They have total control of the body and the mind of their host; they can even recall his memories. A new personality will emerge from this under the control of the Arachnid. A major drawback from this control is the host’s body will die of complete exhaustion after two or three years, at which time the Arachnid must find a new host. In the last moment, before the host dies from exhaustion, the Arachnid divides itself into two new Arachnids, both retaining the memories and experiences of all previous hosts. Another advantage is that every Arachnid is connected to every other Arachnid by a psychic link.

After taking over another species and absorbing its technological knowledge, the Arachnids had found their calling: to take control of the entire galaxy, to unify every species under a complete union of mind and body, and above all, to form the Worlds of Unions. After learning that they were going through their hosts too quickly, the Arachnids started taking some of the beings to unused planets and using part of that population for replacement hosts. Even so, they needed more hosts, so they started conquering their neighbors.  This action has the unfortunate effect of making the Arachnids enemies with most of their neighbors. But most of the time, the Arachnids do not mind this because they want to unite them all under their rule, so they will need to fight and beat them all.

They have met the Mallaran Empire and are still at war with the Mallarans. Five years after their first encounter with the Mallarans, they encountered a Helgardian ship. As the first Arachnid tried to take over its host, it was rejected and died after 10 minutes of unbearable pain. The Arachnids decided to destroy the Helgardians but resolved to forget them after a major defeat by them. That lasted for nearly six decades until the Helgardians attacked the Arachnids. Even worse from the Arachnids’ viewpoint was the Helgardians’ protection of species that rightfully belonged in the Worlds of Unions.

Heavy cruisers are the usual ship sent out to “show the flag” when necessary. Backed by a squadron, they are formidable. The Arachnid Dragon Heavy Cruiser is one of the most powerful heavy cruisers of the Triangulum Galaxy, mounting two hellfire torpedoes with enough power to push them out.  The versatility of the hellfire torpedo permits this ship to fight in many different ways.

The ship is available in a variety of materials. Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
