Omni Scale General Small Auxiliary Scout (SAS) SRZ

This ship was designed before the General War as a listening post that would stay out of combat and provide wide-area scanning to support fleet operations. Scouts built on warship hulls would provide whatever electronic warfare support was needed in combat. Most of the Alliance empires believed that the front lines would move at a relatively low speed and that deep raids would be unusual and limited to the handful of fast cruisers and light dreadnoughts. Auxiliary scouts could stand back from the battle in relative safety and tell admirals where enemy fleets were moving.

The Coalition, however, was determined to launch a pulsar-war campaign of high-speed attacks. While deep raids were limited to special ships, any destroyer could find a gap to slip through and destroy any auxiliary operating in “safe” areas behind the front lines.

The ship is available in a variety of materials. Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
