Original width: 720m (Estimation, based on window placement,
ex-astris-scientia.org)
Scale: 1/7000
Print orientation for Detail Plastic: Top up
Mounting hole: None
Cost reduction: To reduce the Bounding Box Volume and therefore make it cheaper in Fine Detail Plastic, the model is rotated by 45° in the printer. The model's total width (saucer to saucer) is 102.85mm, when oriented straight.
Assembly: I made the lower pylons under the saucers separately, as they often broke during printing and shipping. Each pylon has a pin with a flat side that fits into a corresponding hole in the saucers (both pylons are identical, there is no left and right). They need to be glued together. Some sanding/fitting might be required.
The Jupiter Station, seen in VOY: "Lief Line", was considered by designer Rick Sternbach to be made of Ambassador Class saucers. The size estimation from
ex-astris-scientia.org is based on the visible window placement. This makes the saucers smaller in diameter than the one of an Ambassador Class but at the same time they are higher, because the shape is not exactly the same. Therefore, they must come from a different type of ship or are purposely build for the station.
