Product Description
The Inter-Stellar Concordium (ISC) is an organization of five species associated by treaty, all speaking a common language. In this, they are similar to the Federation. As is typical of the Alpha Octant’s eastern regions, all of these species are native to different planets. Still, most of these systems are within a relatively small area at the center of ISC territory. The various species discovered each other, fought several minor wars, and formed the ISC before the era of warp-powered starships. There, the resemblance to the Federation ends. The ISC has no concept of a Prime Directive and will intervene in the development of any species to bring it up to ISC standards. The ISC’s prime conviction is that “a peaceful, harmonious and well-ordered universe is the duty of all sentient species. Civilizations collapse when that duty is ignored; therefore, it must be required of all.” The dark underside of the ISC is that they have no respect for individual or cultural rights that violate this principle and will go to any lengths to enforce their idea of “peace, order, and good government.” Therefore, the ISC will try (usually successfully) to separate warring powers, forcing them back within their borders. The ISC does not try to conquer those powers or force them to adopt ISC philosophies, but the ISC enforces a “Zero Tolerance for War” policy.
The ISC, like other empires, built a light tactical transport ship on the hull of a light cruiser. Capable of carrying one cargo pod, it could keep up with the fleet while carrying supplies for an extended attack. However, this version carries a battle pod that is basically a cargo pod stuffed full of weapons and the reactors to power them. Such armed pods (there are also pods carrying fighters, Marines, or gunboats) can turn a cargo hauler into a very dangerous warship equal to a command cruiser in power.
The ship is available in a variety of materials. Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
