Product Description
This collection includes two D5B War Cruisers, a D5S Scout Cruiser, and a D5L War Cruiser Leader.

The Klingon Deep Space Fleet commissioned a special study to determine if the D7 battlecruiser class could be made more efficient by the introduction of new technology, such as anti-drones. Of the various proposals, the one from the Kozenko Design Bureau (known by their designation KDB-1104) was the most interesting and the most radical. Typical of war cruisers, the D5B had 90% of the firepower of a D7 for 62% of the cost. War cruisers were, across the Alpha Octant, light cruisers with the armament of heavy cruisers, something possible only because no one expected them to survive in combat for their nominal 10-year service life to expire. These became the most-produced cruisers of the General War.

As the General War dragged on, the pre-war F5S scouts (designed only to find distant enemies to help the fleet maneuver) became increasingly obsolete for use in direct combat. Scouts in a battle jammed enemy targeting, disrupted enemy seeking weapons, identified enemy units as to specific sub-types, and controlled mass waves of seeking weapons. The Klingons responded by producing a scout version of the D5 war cruiser, known as the D5S Scout Cruiser. With the power of a full-size cruiser behind its jammers, and the sheer bulk to survive a mass enemy volley, the D5S became the most numerically important scout in the Klingon Deep Space Fleet.

Designed to lead squadrons of D5 war cruisers, the D5L leader variant had an enlarged command facility and shuttle bay, and carried a slightly large crew.  Known names include Rabbleslayer, Rabblekiller, Rabidkiller, Rabidslayer, Ratkiller, Ratslayer, Redslayer, Redkiller, Roguekiller, Rogueslayer, Ruthlesskiller, and Ruthlesslayer.

This sprue of ships is available in a variety of materials. Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
