Product Description
The uniquely elegant pendant Gaia Nena arranges 99 cells on a sphere. Its form, its number of cells and its name remind of Nena's famous song 99 Luftballons.
Chemists love our Gaia beads for their similarity to fullerenes. To biologists they appeal as radiolarians like first described by Ernst Haeckel or as pollen. Due to their earth-like and organic form, the beads take their name from the greek goddess Gaia - mother earth and mother of all life.
The mysterious arrangement of the cells does not follow any perceptible order. All cells are nicely rounded and all sprues are of the same width. Indeed Gaia Nena features a rare and arcane symmetry. Inspect Gaia Nena with the 3D-viewer! Can you recognize its hidden perfect symmetry?
Gaia beads can be worn as pendant on a ringlike necklace or on a cord of leather, silk, or silicon. A necklace - and its clasp - can have a diameter of three mm and will still fit across Gaia Nena. A cord is best pulled through two cells close to each other.
