Parts to create 2  "Zentralsteuerung" (aka Flex-Drive) synchronizer "U-formige" gearbox and dog-clutch  mechanisms for WWI German fighters equipped with twin LMG08 machine guns and  inline engines. The device was positioned behind the camshaft bevel gear housing and driven by the engine's camshaft. Flex shafts (not included -- model with micro springs) connect the trigger mechanism and tachometer.  The Fokker Flex Drive system was mandated by Idflieg for all German fighter aircraft starting in July 1917. A variety of gearboxes were employed; this part depicts the "U-formige" or U-Shaped gear box that was used on many later German fighters, but check your references -- there were several patterns.

For more information, see Albatros D.V/D.Va Synchronizers Pt 1.

Also, check out this  interactive schematic showing how this system worked. (Works on desktop browsers.)
