Product Description
riginal length: approx. 40km (Estimation, compared to a Kazon Carrier)
Scale: 1/250'000
Mounting hole: None

The Caretaker Array from the pilot episode of "Star Trek: Voyager" is huge. There is a scene where we can see a Kazon Carrier (which is a 1.8m long monster ship by itself), flying above one of the array's larger wings. This allows for a rough size estimation. Bernd Schneider at Ex Astris Scientia estimates it to be 22km over the narrow side. But when i scale the array to that and also load a Kazon Carrier into the same scene, this looks too big. The site "Daystrom Institute Technical Library", estimates it to be 13.41km high, and when compared to the Kazon Carrier, this looks much more like what we've seen in the episode. This sets this model to roughly 40km along the long side, so i'm using this. This also sets the narrow side to 18.7km, just a tiny 3.3km off from Bernd's guess... Of course, this could easily be off by a few hundred meters but at this size, this is close to nothing.
