3788 Scale Klingon HD5K Refitted Heavy War Cruiser

The Klingon effort at a heavy war cruiser design was literally a half step between the basic D5 War Cruiser and the D5W New Heavy Cruiser. The design added more systems, but the added mass slowed the ship down. Like the Federation Medium Cruiser, the Klingons used a small warp pack to bring total warp power back up to fleet maneuver standards so that the HD5 Heavy War Cruiser could fly alongside D5 war cruisers and D5W new heavy cruisers.

The HD5 was one of the better heavy war cruiser designs, having good maneuverability and firepower, but the design was too complex for mass production. Known names include Demonbrawler, Deathbrawler, Firebrawler, Warbrawler, and Battlebrawler. The Klingon HD5K has Aztek panels on the outer surfaces which represent efforts to reduce the electronic signature of the HD5K and match it to the HD5 so the enemy could not tell the ship had been refitted.

The ship is available in a variety of materials. Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
