Metropolitan Railway A class 4-4-0T loco
built by Beyer Peacock, first used in 1864. A total of 40 A Class and 26 of the slightly different B Class were delivered by 1885.
Originally used in underground lines, but after electrification , many transferred to mainline, sold or scrapped. Cabs added aftee transfer toopenair duties and in this form one was used on Brill branch until that line closed and continued as a yard shunter up till 1948 and is now preserved in early cabless condition.
Requires finishing off, wheels etc
