Product Description
A pre-General War effort to improve the performance of the destroyer, this destroyer variant utilized Gorn plasma technology which was made available under a clause of the Treaty of Algeron. Two plasma-F launchers were added to the Middle Years Destroyer (DDM) instead of two additional photon torpedo tubes. This ship was one of the few cases where the problems with the original design outweighed the problems most navies had in employing foreign technology. It was thought that by using stasis-held plasma-F torpedoes, the power requirements could be reduced. Why the Federation called the plasma-armed variants "leaders" is unknown. The ship does not have improved command abilities. Known names include 0501 Genghis, 0507 Kublai, 0524 Zoroaster, 0532 Lysander, 0538 Leonidas, 0539 Marius, 0541 Nebuchadnezzar, and 0557 Arthur Pendragon. The fans asked for the smooth-saucer version as a classic look and for ease of adding decals.

This ship is available in a variety of materials. Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
