The Romulan Science Ship from TNG: "The next Phase" was a redress of the Romulan Scout vessel from TNG: "The Defector", with a different front module and an added piece on the rear. The main body with the warp nacelles was identical on both ships (although the center piece was turned upside down for the Science Ship, as the different length of the fins indicate). This may lead to the assumption that both ships are based on the same modular main hull and therefore should be roughly the same size. This is why i list this ship with a length of 95m. At this size, the center hull is the same size as on the 89m scout ship. However, in the episode where this ship appears, it is said that due to an accident only 73 crew members survived, leaving the impression that the original crew count was much higher. For this the ship would have to be much larger and in fact, the script for the episode describes the ship as being about half the size of the Enterprise (642m : 2 = 321m). Eaglemoss took this to list their model from "The Official Starships Collection" with a length of 300m. As this figure is a bit vague, i keep my original length at 95m but also give the scale for a ship around 300m. On a side note, the same model was later used for Star Trek: Voyager as an alien ship of the week (the Nerada, not to confuse with the Narada from the Star Trek '09 movie), just painted ocher and flying backwards! Thus, almost looking like a  Cardassian design in my opinion.
