Sadly, we never saw the Ferengi ship that Picard encountered in what the Ferengi call the "Battle Of Maxia" in any episode of Star Trek. In fact, there are basically only three canon Ferengi ship classes we know so far. It is safe to assume that it is neither the small Ferengi Shuttle nor the Transport ship from the 22nd century. We also can rule out the D'Kora Class, because otherwise Picard would have recognized the ship in the episode "The Last Outpost". Instead, he referred to it as "Very impressing design", as if he saw it for the first time. Given that, the Ferengi ship from the battle has to be a very distinct design from the D'Kora. Unfortunately, i found no other ship in any secondary material that fit that role. For example, models from video games tend to being just some stretched and distorted D'Kora Class ships.
But then i found a
fan made video on YouTube about the "Battle Of Maxia". The creator used parts of the Concorde Class from the old Star Trek Australia site to create the Ferengi ship. This is the only depiction of this ship that at least has
some credibility, as it looks like an alien design that could be of Ferengi origin and is also very different from the D'Kora Class on the same time. So i used the same parts of the Concorde model to recreate that ship as good as i could.
In the first draft of the script for "The Battle" the ship was named "Koron" and in the novel "The Buried Age" it is named "The Seventy-Fifth Rule" and is a Raider Class Scout (
memory-alpha). The size is chosen to make it about the same size as the main hull of the Constellation Class (USS Stargazer).
