This is an after deckhouse for the Tamiya Sims-class model, and will convert the model into an early war (1942) USS Hughes or USS Russell.
This is essentially a downscaling of the 1/350th Hughes-Russell after deckhouse part. As such, certain compromises had to be made to get the part printable. The splinter shielding is thicker normal in order to be printable. I say this in the interests of honesty. You can either accept the thicker shielding, or snip it off and rebuild it using very thin sheet styrene. Its simply the state of the technology these days. In time, printing fidelity for these small parts will improve. Until then, be advised that some of the very fine details that are printable in 1/350th scale, may not print to the same level in 1/700th.
Soak the part in lukewarm soapy water and LIGHTLY scrub with a soft toothbrush or similar to clean the printing residue form the part and prepare it for painting. Use a deft touch to avoid breaking the splinter shielding. Acrylic paints are recommended. Attach using CA glue.
