Product Description

Scale: 1/7000
Print orientation for Detail Plastic: Top up
Mounting hole: None

This model is based on one of five study models for the Excelsior Class, built in the course of the pre-production of "Star Trek III". The original study model briefly appeared in the surplus depot at Qualor II in TNG: "Unification" among other wrecks from the Borg encounter at Wolf 359. This shot was most probably originally been made for "The Best of Both Worlds" but not used in the end. Nevertheless, this makes it very likely, that this is also one of the 40 ships destroyed in the "Battle of Wolf 359". It looks like this one was supposed to have an extendable neck and movable warp nacelles. The later can be seen on the photos of the actual study model. On one, the nacelles almost form a perfect "X", while the one showing it from the side, has the nacelles much lower. They are also tilted to the side on that photo. For the size, i scaled the saucer to about the same diameter as on the final Excelsior Class, resulting in a length of 505m for this 3D model. I also added a few details that are not on the study model but were taken from the final Excelsior.
