Product Description
PE 107 was a one-of-a-kind car. PE modernized it during the "Valley Seven" moderinzation of 15 hollywood cars in the late 1930s.
The car differed from a typical 100 in that it had skirts, new roof vents, a rub rail, streamlined pole base, and rain gutters added.
She was frequently used on the hospital shuttle from Echandia Junction and on the Sierra Madre shuttle. The car also made appearances running in this paint scheme on the Echo Park Avenue line. She lost her side skirts in the 1940-41 modernization campaign and and became just another red and orange 100, but she kept all the modifications except the side skirts.
This kit comes in five parts that have interlocking pegs. I prefer to paint it in five parts then assemble the pieces. It makes assembly so much easier.
Be sure to scrub the parts thoroughly with simple greeen, hot water, and a high frequency electric toothbrush before painting.
The floor is available separately due to being made of a cheaper and more rugged material. Don't use the sideframes that come with the floor unless you have very long radius curves on your layout. They will foul the skirts.  They can't be seen anyway, so I leave them off. The floor is sold here; https://www.shapeways.com/product/FBR3AFQSD/ho-pacific-electric-100-series-local-car-floor?optionId=64289629
The roof has holes for common 2mm brass pole base bushings from customtraxx. Be sure to trim the one over the motor about 1/8" otherwise it'll hit the motor when assembled.
The car is designed to use customtraxx part number 125130A, Which is their 4'10" wheelbase truck with 26" wheels.
Don't forget to add a pair of brass pole bushings, part number 12508, and a pair of trolley poles, part number HT-P4. Unfortunately he does not offer the correct slider shoe on that pole base, so either you can file the wheel into a slider shape or replace it with the slider castings, part number HT-C4.
