3125 Scale Tholian Destroyers (3) SRZ

Tholians are a crystalline species that once ruled the M81 Galaxy. When the Tholian Will was overthrown by the Seltorians, some small groups of Tholians fled to other galaxies. One small group of Tholians reached the Milky Way, where they took over the easternmost part of Klingon space, the part that originally bordered the Romulans. They called this the Tholian Holdfast. The Tholians (who considered carbon-based life to be lower than bacteria) enslaved Klingon colonies in the region and kept the Klingons at bay by their (at the time) superior technology. Their foes, the Seltorians, arrived in the Milky Way Galaxy later.

The Tholian patrol corvette (never intended as anything but a police ship in the M81 Galaxy) was increasingly outclassed as the years went by, and the Tholians (perhaps with help from another empire) explored ways to build a more powerful ship. The most successful of these was the destroyer, which expanded the slab fins of the patrol corvette into wedges, added 25% more volume. This allowed them to add disruptors and more powerful engines, producing a workable destroyer for proper military duties.

While the first pinwheel constructed (in the heat of battle) a pinwheel can be built out of three destroyers. In fact, a pinwheel could be built out of two patrol corvettes and a destroyer, or two destroyers and a patrol corvette. This is an artifact of the design; every destroyer is in fact an enlarged patrol corvette. While police cutters and war cruisers can form their own pinwheels, they cannot be mixed with patrol corvettes or destroyers to make pinwheels. This group of three destroyers includes a connector so you can create your own pinwheel if desired.

The Tholian destroyer is also available singly or as a one-piece pinwheel.

The ship is available in a variety of materials. Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
