The appearance of the Klingon D7 in TOS:"The Enterprise Incident" was used by the old FASA game as the base for the story about a short Romulan-Klingon alliance where they exchanged technology. The Klingons got the cloaking device and the Romulans got Klingon ships. FASA names those the V-11 "Stormbird" and the first delivery (Type 1) looked exactly as the Klingon version, except for a painted on bird marking on the underside, similar to that of the Romulan Bird-of-Prey. The second and third batch (Type 2+5) were delivered without the warp drive, and the Romulans had to add nacelles of their own. Type 3+4 were said to be refits of the Type 1. The original FASA drawing shows the Type 2+5 as a variant of the K't'inga with the same nacelles as the V-27 "Comet of Destruction" and an unique "feater-pattern" on the hull. The problem is, the text explicitly says, "the Klingons agreed to exchange their D-7A Class cruisers", which is the TOS version of the D7. Both versions of the original episode (TOS and TOS-R) are showing that the ships of the first batch are indeed the D7 and not the K't'inga. I therefore based this Romulan version upon the D7 Refit you can also find in my shop. I only slightly changed the hull plating to a more feather-like look, as i doubt that the Romulans would rebuild the ship's outer hull in such an extent and that the different look is just a paint job. The size is also based on the now official size of 228m for the D7. FASA back then, saw the D7 as 216m long and the Stormbird as 220/221m.
