Like with so many designs from FSA, the depiction often does not correspond with the size given in the same book. This is also the case with the Lenthal Class. On the picture it has a full size saucer from the TMP Constitution, but when scaled to this size, the ship would easily dwarf the Enterprise and would be much larger than the given 260m. This is why this model is rather based on a redraw made by Neale Davidson. He keeps the overall proportions, but shrinks it to the size given by the book, with the bridge and the sensor dome kept in the same size as on the Constitution Refit. However, this doesn't solve the terrible placement of the warp nacelles. If placing the nacelles so close together would be an option, then why does almost any other Starfleet ship, starting with Cocrane's Phoenix, have them placed as much away from each other, on thin, weak pylons? The worst thing in my opinion is that this way the bussard collectors are useless, which leads to the question of why they are there in the first place?
