The first time this ship was shown, it was supposed to be a Bajoran Freighter and was called an Antares Class. It is uncertain and most unlikely that all the Antares Classes mentioned in Star Trek could all be the same, so this is only one of many Antares Class ships in the Trek-Universe. The Studio model originally was build as the Husnock Warship that appeared only once. The model then was heavily altered to become the Zibalian Freighter from "TNG: The Most Toys". There it depicted Kivas Fajo's ship, the "Jovis". The stock footage of that variant was also used as Kaelon warship, Boreal III freighter, Valtese ship and Kressari freighter (for the last one, the footage was reversed, so the back was the front). After that, the model was then modified to the Smugglers' Ship from "Unification I". Again, stock footage of this was also used later as Illari Warship on "Star Trek: Voyager". The model finally was altered once again into the shape shown here. Among fans this is also called the "Hammerhead Freighter" (because of the Structure at the front). This design then appeared multiple times as different ships from different species during DS9, VOY and ENT. First as the actual physical model, later as a CGI ship. It is therefore the most used "Alien of the week" studio model in the history of Star Trek. But the story doesn't end here, two castings of the underside of this studio model, glued together were also used to create the other Bajoran Freighter (Janitza Class) and another one became the top of the Pakled ship ("Mondor"), that had multiple appearances of its own.
