3788 Scale Romulan K5R Frigate WEM

During the period when the Klingon D6 battlecruisers were delivered to the Romulan Empire, a number of F5 frigates were also transferred to the Romulans. These were converted into plasma-armed frigates to support the larger ships. Later, some of these ships were converted into variants. The K5R (also known as KF5R or the Klingon-Type Frigate) was a capable frigate but like the original Klingon ship suffered from being somewhere between the galaxy’s largest frigate and smallest destroyer. Known names include Centaurii, Rapier, Scimitar, Shillelah, Retiariis, Triumver, Nemesis, Galley, and Tribune. The change in weapons and the scallops on the wings help distinguish this from the Klingon original.

The ship is available in a variety of materials. (Smooth Fine Detail Plastic makes an excellent cloaked ship!) Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
