Product Description
This is a NSWGR 18 foot high 3 arm signal printed in White Natural Versatile Plastic (previously called White Strong and Flexible - WSF) material. The signal post has a mechanism to adjust and control the operation of the signal arms as well as detail such as many bolt heads, detailed parts and finials (Finial - officially known by NSWGR as a Pinnacle), etc.
A set of detail parts containing a 30 inch signal arm and other details such as lamp tops, lamp 'backlight blinds', a cast ladder base and counterweight levers are included with this signal.
Signal arms for the other two arm positions are available in siding, calling on, shunt ahead and wrong road styles.
To complete this signal you can purchase from this Signals Branch Shapeways Shop a suitable ladder with top end safety cage printed in Smooth Fine Detail Plastic (previously called Frosted Ultra Detail - FUD) acrylic material which is quite strong. Also required are some 0.032" phosphor bronze wire for operating rods, a #4 6mm long self tapping screw, 6 X M2 or 2-56 bolts 12 - 16mm long for mechanism crank adjustment and a 3mm or 1/8" I.D. washer.
If you wish you could instead purchase an etched brass ladder and use some fine strip brass to make the circular safety cage. A suitable etched brass ladder and a ladder forming jig are available from Keiran Ryan Models: http://www.krmodels.com.au/7mm_kits.html
