3125 Scale Klingon HF5 K-Refit Heavy War Destroyer

The Klingon HF5K refitted heavy war destroyer is a refit of the HF5 with improved phaser gyros. The Aztek panels on the outer surfaces represent efforts to reduce the electronic signature of the HF5K and match it to the HF5 so the enemy could not tell the difference. The final and largest (non-X) variant of the successful F5 frigate design, the HF5 uses an enlarged rear hull along with the boom and engines of the F5W and a third engine taken from the by-then-ancient E4 class.

Heavy war destroyers were a late-war development intended to replace all of the support ship variants with a single design. The ability to rapidly convert an HDW to any variant (scout, escort, fighter carrier, gunboat tender, commando ship, cargo transport, scientific survey ship, and others) allowed a fleet to respond to a need for more support ships of a given type caused by heavy casualties among those units or changing battlefield technology. All HDWs carry two fighters for additional firepower and are treated as "casual carriers."

The ship is available in a variety of materials. Ships are unpainted, use standard flight stands available from many sources, and, while designed for gaming, make fine display pieces.
