Product Description
Here is another magracing chassis with an adjustable wheelbase for 1/32 scale Le Mans Prototype (LMP) bodies. This kit is designed to help you build a magracing chassis to fit your existing model race car body. Fits many 1/32 accurately scaled models of LMP race cars. Kit requires other parts to complete. CK4 is similar to CK3 with the following significant differences:
1. CK4 has a slightly thinner side profile which reduces the amount of interior that might have to be removed for the chassis to fit the body.
2. CK4 has a battery compartment that must be loaded from the top which requires removal of the body.
3. CK4 uses bronze strip for battery contacts instead of magnets.
4. CK4 can navigate slightly tighter corners.
5. CK4 has a minimum wheelbase of 3.20" conpared to 3.25" for CK3.
Features of CK4 include the following
Inline motor configuration where the motor shaft runs perpendicular to the rear axle.
Ideal for converting slot car with inline motor configuration into magnetically guided racer.
Adjustable wheelbase from 3.20” to 3.55”.
20" diameter turning cirlce accommodates 9" radius guide wire.
Extremely low center of gravity.
Frontend has 1 degree of positive toe and 3 degrees of negative camber which greatly improve handling and lane changing.
Shorter front suspension beams allow for narrower front track compared to original magracer.
Accommodates narrower rear track too !
Ultra thin profile accomodates low front and rear cowling as well as NASA ducts.
Thinner profile than CK3 with battery located on right side of chassis.
Body held to chassis by magnets.
Top loading battery compartment requires quick and easy removal of body to replace battery.
Uses bronze spring strip instead of magnets for electrical connectors at battery terminals.
Works best with protected 10440 rechargeable batteries, but can be configured to work with shorter unprotected batteries.
Does not require removal of any insulation on the battery.
Does not require hard to find batteries with magnetic positive (+) terminal.
Weighs less than original stock magracing chassis.
Requires crown gear on rear axle.
Use with steering coil, printed circuit board, battery, motor, pinion gear, and some of the screws, nuts and magnets of a standard magracing chassis which you already have. Designed to be used with 3/32" diameter front and rear axles, along with wheels, and tires typically used on 1/32 slot cars.
Purchase a few other screws and magnets separately from MagRacingUnlimited, or others.
