With regard to print quality, there have evidently been some changes to the production process since I initially made this product, and I do not have full knowledge of what they are. The issues that exist seem to be with the colored nylon (versatile plastic), and I think they stem from a non-optional polishing step. They sometimes come out excellent and sometimes very bad, as a few commenters here have found. The issue is inconsistent, and there's not much I can do to fix it other than making those materials unavailable. The nylon has always been an option for this product as a budget alternative to the more expensive higher-quality materials and processes. People are upset when I offer only premium options, but are also disappointed by budget options sometimes. I wish the material renders didn't oversell the detail of nlyon so much, but that is beyond my control (the site auto-generates them). The best budget option for this die was a material that is no longer offered by Shapeways, and I have no viable way to do it on my own. Customer service may be able to help you if you received a particularly bad-quality print.
