Tell us a little bit about yourself: Who are you? Where are you located?
I live in Urretxu, Basque Country, Spain and I do painting, 3D content and videogames, sculpting and photography.
What’s the story behind your designs? What inspires you?
As a 3D artist, the posibility to make real a 3D design is awesome. In all my creative work as an artist, nature is always present, in all her forms. I love nature and mountains. Where I live, in the Basque country of Spain, we are surrounded by mountains, and some of my models in shapeways are these emblematic mountains of my natural environment.
What brought you to 3D printing with Shapeways?
At first, I just wanted to see in the real world some of my 3D designs, and later I realized that I could make some money with my 3D modeling skills…life as an artist is limited in resources like money sometimes.
How did you learn how to design in 3D?
First I learned the basics in the University of Fine Arts, and later, I taught myself with internet tutorials. I discovered the awesome software BLENDER 3D, and I have not stopped working since!
How do you promote your work?
I have a
website, and I have exhibited my artistic works in museums, art galleries and film festivals.
Who are your favorite designers or artists? Who in the Shapeways community has served as an inspiration to you?
I love the world of fractals and mathemathical designs so I like the designers Bathsheba, Virtox and Joshua Harker.
If you weren’t limited by current technologies, what would you want to make using 3D printing?
I would like to do better full color designs in others materials besides sandstone.
