Based upon the article by Piers Connor and also photographic research to identify where the article and official drawing appears to be incorrect.
These locomotives were built by the District Railway to haul through LNWR services on the section between Earls Court and Mansion House. They entered service in 1906 providing this service until 1909, when it ceased. After that they took over a few Circle Line services. Between 1910 and 1939 they operated the LTSR through services over the section between Ealing and Barking. They generally operated in pairs with the driving cabs (end with lights) facing outwards.
One (10A) was rebuilt double ended. If you want a doubled ended version drop me a note and I'll upload the needed tweaks
