Product Description
I made this hood for a tandem axle oil delivery truck I am building. I have 2 IH Transtar cabs that could be Paystars if the right hood, fenders, and bumper were attached. The shape is based on measurements I took off of a real one owned by the Town of Smithtown (NY) Sanitation Dept in the 1980s. I did not put the four ribs on the hood so that I could sand the texture smooth more easily. I spent 3 days putting diamond treadplate texture on the fenders, but after I was done I removed it because it kept overheating and slowing down my computer. I designed the space in the radiator shell to take either etched brass or grooved sheet plastic to imitate a grille or radiator shutters.
